​Jim enjoys foreign countries, learning languages, skiing, motorcycles, and cats.  He has lived in Tokyo, Berlin, Los Angeles, New York, Minneapolis, Honolulu, Baltimore, Michigan, and Florida and served as principal percussionist of the Tallahassee Symphony, and principal timpanist of the Delaware Symphony before coming to Richmond.
