“To take everything I’ve learned and creatively reshape and present it, tailored and timed to each student--it’s very rewarding,” says Cathy of her private violin studio.  Teaching gives her a sense of gratitude towards her teachers, particularly former Philadelphia Orchestra co-concertmaster William DePasquale and Yumi Scott, a student of Ivan Galamian.  Cathy and her husband, RSO principal cellist Neal Cary, are passing on their love and devotion for music on to their own children as well: Emma (11), plays piano and cello, and Alan (8), plays piano and violin.
