      Alison Hall grew up in London and Jersey City, and received her degrees from Yale University and Manhattan School of Music.  She has been a member of the Richmond Symphony since coming to Virginia in 2001.  She teaches violin privately and at Woodberry Forest School, and she is a founding member of the Afton String Quartet.  She lives in Charlottesville with her husband and four children.
